Why I’m not doing the 17 Minute Workout

Some of you saw my video where I mentioned I lost 10lbs in 10 days and where I mentioned I don’t do the 17 minute workout.
You wanted to know why so I thought I’d explain what I’m doing too.

Basically, I don’t have the 25 or so minutes to do the “17 minute” workout. Yes, it’s not actually 17 minutes because there’s a warmup and cool down period. Also, I guess maybe it’s because I’m a guy, or I’m overweight and not as balanced as the very fit and thin women on the video, or I just don’t have the coordination. It’s difficult for me to get the routines down to the timing they want you to do it, then they change it every couple of reps.

Just when I’d get something down, they’d move on to something else.

So, I have joined the Fat Loss Quickie Club. There’s not just 3 workouts, there’s a TON of videos, audios, workbook and that. I was actually very impressed with what I got for the price! They have shorter workouts that fit my time schedule. 10 min here and there.
Here’s some of what you get: (copied from their site)

  • 30 Unique Fat Loss Quickie Home Workout Videos
  • 30 Unique Fat Loss Quickie Home Cardio Videos
  • Fat Loss Quickie Workout Journal
  • Fat Loss Quickie Meal Plan and Recipe Videos
  • 42 Unstoppable Fat Loss Motivational Audios(I love these!)
  • There’s more but you can check it out for yourself. They even have a community where you can talk to others who are going through the program. They’re doing A LOT of things right.

Personally I’ve been discouraged with The 17 Day Diet. In fact, I sent them an email on 1/5/2011 and just got a response yesterday 1/31/2011. How is that customer service?

Scott and Angie are not like that and have actually built a community where everyone can come and talk about their program, or whatever. Yes, THEY are in there too, so you have direct access. Everyone has questions once in a while, right?

Well anyway. Here’s the link to their site so you can check it out. If you join let me know.

Everyone will have a different reaction to the 17 Day Diet. I am seeing results on the 17 Day Diet and love the 17 minute workout DVD…. thats just me. Good luck!

      • Even though, I am definitely not a guy . . . I am an out-of-shape woman. Not having 25-minutes a day to give to exercise, personally, and is true in my life as well. I feel, for me, it is also a poor excuse to not exercise, though; I’m just not wanting to make the time.

My real excuse, besides the “trim women” in the 17-Day-Video [I totally agree with you on that] besides the fact, I cannot always do the movements they do; at least, not well — I hate to exercise for the purpose of exercising. It’s work and I want to do things I enjoy! I don’t enjoy a lot of work . . . chores such as exercise.

As usual, I fell off this wagon quickly, and will have to start over again — I decided when I can get back on the 17-Day-Diet [I feel the eating part is great & probably works really well], I will go back to the only exercise, at this weight, I can stand — Sweatin’ to the Oldies! Richard Simmons, who features heavy-set people like myself in his videos, is more my pace. His first “Sweatin’” is only 38-minutes long. I have a problem with the food only because, I really do not shop nor cook. I need to get on the program where they prepare the meals for you. I am unable to afford it right now, though.

It is important to get in 20-30 minutes-a-day of exercise. You will have to find the time, I feel, if weight loss and keeping it off is important to you (same lecture I’m giving myself). As I am speaking to myself here, too. We must’nt use excuses such as “I have no time,” because if we do not get control of our weight — we won’t have any time. I have high blood pressure due to my weight gain (at age 33-yrs-old).

A heart attack or stroke certainly would cut my “time” short. I recently had a co-worker, not much older than me, end up in a sad, sad state — she had a stroke and heart attack the same day!!! When that happened to her . . . I realized how precious our “time” is and we need to find, make or force ourselves, Mike, to find time to exercise for 20 to 30 minutes, at least, three to four times a week. Even if it means we set an alarm 45-minutes earlier than usual and do a morning thing.

I highly recommend Richard Simmon’s DVDs, and for our soul, Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book: Excuses Begone! [Good for all things in life, actually.]

I too am not quite coordinated enough to do the 17 minute dvd. The book doesn’t say you have to use that workout though. That’s just one option. For now walking is the best for me. I’ll try the dvd again when I’m in better shape. Don’t give up on the whole program just because of the dvd. It works without it.

I haven’t tried the workout yet, but am going to do it once, then try your link to the “Club”. I, too, have found the customer service for the 17 Day Diet Plan terrible. There was a mistake when I ordered and then I was told I was getting both the book and the DVD, then got charged one thing, but a different charge went on my card. Then I wrote and called several times and explained the problem, and then I find another charge on my card for the DVD that I told the woman, “If it can’t be just shipped to me after what I’ve already gone through, I don’t want it.” She said OK, and then I got charged on my card AGAIN. Unbelievable.

I’m not having the results you all are having, maybe I’m doing this wrong. Not sure. I would like more recipes that are easier for the average person to cook, and a shopping list so that at least I will have the ingredients for the recipes of the book.

If you give points to people who join you are making it impossible for people who haven’t paid anything to enter the contest unable to have a fair chance to win. I am happy with The Seventeen Day Diet and The 17 minute workouts. At this time I cannot afford to put out more money. Thanks for the information. I may use it some time in the future when I can afford it.

    5. I think you’re right. That’s like paying money to get points or “votes”. While I live in Chicagoland, I don’t want to be seen as someone taking money in exchange for entries into the contest… lol

    6. Melissa Doyle says:

How soon will the winners be announced?

    7. Melissa Doyle says:

I think anyone who follows this diet is already a winner. It’s amazing how much it has helped me. If anyone wants to continue to support each other on this journey after the contest ends u can friend me on fb (put 17 day in the subject line). I’m listed on fb as Missy Doyle. Good luck in the future and congrats on ur progress so far!

Btw, I just checked out the link for the fat loss quickie club and it looks great. I’d especially like the motivational audio for when I’m on the go. BUT although it seems like a great value for the money I just don’t have the extra cash right now. So I’m hoping I might win it and if not I will save the link for sometime in the future when I might have that extra money. It looks like a great support system. Thanks for sharing the link with us all.

I choose not to do the 17 Day diet exercise video because I like doing my own stuff.. I would rather dance to music or walk outside.. I hate staying indoors.. and I’m not about to take a dvd outside and workout in my yard. My neighbors may have me locked up..LOL

    10. Its such as you learn my mind! You seem to grasp so much approximately this, such as you wrote the ebook in it or something. I think that you simply could do with a few % to pressure the message home a bit, but instead of that, that is wonderful blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.

Thanks , I have recently been looking for information approximately this subject for a while and yours is the best I have discovered
so far. But, what concerning the bottom line? Are you certain about the supply?
